Bajolo is a hungarian word meaning “bewitching”. We felt it was most appropriate for the vizsla!
Bajolo is a small breeding program located in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada (south shore of Montreal). I raised my first litter of vizslas in 1998 although I have been active in dog competitions since 1990. My dogs are first of all my companions and I am planning on breeding only a litter every 1-2 years.
Everything started after I purchased an American Cocker Spaniel in 1989. His name was Brandon and he was not an easy one so I enrolled us in an obedience class. One day I decided to enter him in an obedience trial where we qualified at our first attempt! I entered him again, with not much successes, as it turned out he was not able to deal with the stress of an obedience trial. My obedience instructors at that time owned and bred vizslas. That is how I learned about the breed. One day they asked me to train their 4 month old new puppy named Tasha at an obedience training camp in the United Sates (the Volhard Camp by Jack & Wendy Volhard). That is how I fell in love with the breed!
I was lucky to purchase that same puppy a few months later at 11 month old. This little girl became known as Am/Can Ch. Bajos Flockati Tasha Yar, CDX, Am. CD, CGC and is the foundation of Bajolo Vizslas. With Tasha I became involved in obedience as well as in conformation in Canada and the United States. With my male Willow, I became involved in tracking. In 2006, Hazelle introduced me to the world of hunting test. I have also done a little bit of agility and might give a try at Rally-O.
Bajolo est un mot hongrois qui veut dire “ensorcelant”. Nous pensons que cela était très approprié pour le vizsla!
Bajolo est un petit élevage situé à St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Canada (banlieue sud de Montréal). En 1998, j’ai élevé ma première portée. Je suis pourtant impliquée dans les compétitions canines depuis 1990. Mes chiens sont avant tout mes compagnons et j’aurai des portées à l’occasion seulement, soit à tous les 1-2 ans.
Tout a commencé avec l’achat de mon premier chien de race, un Cocker américain, en 1989. Son nom était Brandon et il n’était pas facile. Je nous ai donc inscrits dans un cours d’obéissance. Sous les conseils de notre instructeur, nous avons participé à un concours d’obéissance. Dès notre première fois nous avons qualifié mais j’ai vite réalisé que Brandon était incapable de supporter la pression des concours d’obéissance. Mes instructeurs d’obéissance à ce moment élevaient des vizslas. C’est de cette façon que j’ai connu la race. Un jours ils m’ont demandé si je voulais entraîner leur nouveau chiot de 4 mois (Tasha) à un camp d’obéissance aux États-Unis (le Camp Volhard de Jack & Wendy Volhard). C’est comme ça que je suis tombée en amour avec la race!
J’ai été très chanceuse et quelques mois plus tard j’étais propriétaire de Tasha. Ce petit chiot est devenu connu sous le nom de Am/Can. Ch. Bajos Flockati Tasha Yar, CDX, Am. CD, CGC et est la femelle de fondation de Bajolo. Avec Tasha, j’ai aussi commencé à faire des concours de conformation en plus des concours d’obéissance tant au Canada qu’aux États-Unis. Mon mâle Willow, m’a amené à faire des concours de pistage. En 2006, ma femelle Hazelle, m'a introduit au monde des compétitions de chasse. J'ai fait un peu d'agilité et j'aimerais bien essayé la nouvelle disciple qu'est le Rally-O.
